Climate Change

Managing climate risks in a sustainable way is embedded within our purpose as an organisation to provide great water for a stronger, greener and healthier North West.

The impact of the environment on our activities, and the impact of our activities on the environment is key to how we deliver water and wastewater services to customers.

As an organisation, we identify and assess climate-related risks and opportunities on our services and adapt our business accordingly to ensure long-term resilience and sustainability.

Adaptation

We use scenario analysis in our business planning and risk assessments to inform our adaptation plan to improve our resilience to the effects of climate change

Mitigation

We minimise our contribution to climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through, for example, our energy and land management strategies.

Climate related risks

We assessed the impacts of identified climate risks across three time horizons and multiple climate scenarios at county, regional, and national levels.
