United Utilities to host drop-in session in the Wirral about its plans to improve water quality
Residents in Caldy are being invited to find out more about United Utilities’ planned investment in the area.
The North West’s water company is going to increase the size of the pipes on its sewer network around Long Hey Road to help improve the water quality of the River Dee. The extra storage will help reduce the number of times that the storm overflow has to operate in the area during periods of heavy rain.
The storm tank will be built underground under the private track on Long Hey Road. As a result of the work, the path will be closed for around 12 weeks with access to fields and properties maintained via an alternative route.
The local community can find out more at a drop in event on Monday 27 November. The event will take place at Caldy RUFC on Telegraph Road, Thurstaston between 2pm and 7pm.
Work on the project is expected to start in January 2024 and be completed by spring 2024.
