United Utilities employees show their CARE for Warrington charity

2025 got off to a charitable start for employees from United Utilities’ head office when they gathered clothing donations for Warrington-based CARE UK charity.

Kind-hearted employees donated a wide range of menswear items for the charity which supports the urgent needs of families and individuals in Warrington.

After hearing that the charity was in desperate need of good quality menswear items, the water company joined forces with their facilities management provider CBRE and JK Ross who provide protective workwear to set up collection points across their Lingley Mere offices.

And in just two weeks employees donated hundreds of good quality items. These will now either be donated directly to those in need or sold to help raise vital funds.

Liz Wareing, General Manager at CARE UK said: “This donation is so welcome as we urgently need men’s clothing to meet growing demand.

“In 2024, we completed 1,675 clothing referrals and distributed 17,610 items of clothing to men, women, and children. Out of those referrals, 1,105 were for men, compared to 381 for women and 189 for children.

“The overwhelming demand for men’s clothing means our volunteers are really struggling to keep up with weekly referrals. That’s why this support is so important and means so much to us.

“It will help us provide essential clothing to those who need it most. Thank you to everyone who donated."
