It’s another thumbs up for United Utilities Priority Services Team
United Utilities has been given the thumbs up for the third year running for the inclusive support provided to vulnerable customers across the North West.
After numerous audits and a week-long inspection, the company has once again achieved British Standard’s BS 18477 demonstrating that its Priority Services Register is accessible to all customers, regardless of personal circumstances.
The accreditation comes hot on the heels of an ‘Appreciation of Efforts’ award presented by Warrington Disability Partnership in recognition of the service provided during the pandemic.
Colette Evans, head of customer services at United Utilities said “Our British Standards auditor spent a week with us, conducting interviews right across the business, ensuring we do all we can to offer our vulnerable customers the right help and support. As well as passing without any recommendations for further improvement, our assessor praised us for going above and beyond the standard.”
More than 60,000 customers were added to the register during the pandemic and the team, based in Warrington and Whitehaven are now supporting more than 192,000 customers across the region.
The Priority Services scheme is completely free and aims to provide additional support for those who might be elderly, be in ill health, have a disability or mental health problems and those customers who may have financial worries or language barriers.
If you would like to register for Priority Services, or if you have a family member, friend or neighbour who might benefit, more information can be found on the company’s website, which includes a secure online form to register.
