Blackpool pupils to get insight into the career opportunities on tap at United Utilities

United Utilities is giving Blackpool pupils the opportunity to get an insight into the wide-ranging career opportunities on tap at the water company.

The company employs more than 5,000 people across the North West in roles ranging from engineers and scientists to customer service and project managers - and they will be shining a light on the vast range of roles available at the Employers Careers Fair being held at Blackpool Conference and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday January 31st.

Jacqueline Kawczak Senior Education Lead at United Utilities will be among those representing the company at the event which is aimed at year 9 pupils from Blackpool schools to help them make informed decisions when choosing their GCSE options.

She said: “Many people are surprised at the wide range of career options we have at United Utilities, as well as the engineers people may see out and about, we also have careers in finance, laboratory sciences, data analysis and more.

“As well as raising awareness about the wide range of career options available, we also hope to give pupils a better understanding of how large businesses operate and perhaps inspire them to consider a STEM related career.”

United Utilities is set to recruit around 80 apprentices this year and recruitment will open on Monday February 5th. For more details visit: www.unitedutilities.com/apprenticeships/
