Meet Elspeth, our future leader graduate
Elspeth Fury joined the Future Leaders graduate scheme in 2020, after completing her degree in geography at the University of Liverpool.
“I’ve always been passionate about the environment and making a difference, plus I grew up in Liverpool so I really wanted to help make my home town a greener place for the future,” Elspeth says.
“I found out about the scheme online and knew it was right up my street straightaway. Over the past few years I’ve worked in different roles, from land strategy and human resources to wastewater treatment, so it’s been a really diverse programme.
“Working at United Utilities is really interesting and the people make it such a great place to work. There’s a friendly environment in every team you work with, and everyone wants to see you do well.
“On top of the rewarding and interesting work you also get to study for additional qualifications during the graduate programme. I’ve completed an asset management qualification and am studying for an ILM leadership qualification too, so it’s clear that future development is really valued here.”
