Boosting biodiversity and protecting our environment
The impact of climate change, along with a growing population and increased development, means it's never been more important to protect the local environment in Cumbria.
So we're working in partnership with others, helping to restore natural habitats, and making a positive impact on the county's biodiversity. We’re part of Cumbria Connect joining with landowners, farmers and conservationists to protect England’s rarest habitats, we’re working together with the RSPB at Haweswater to create and restore natural habitats, and we’re restoring peatland to enhance the environment.
