What is a payment plan?

To make it easier for you to pay your annual water charges, we spread your payments over the year into smaller, manageable amounts. We call this a payment plan. Most customers on a payment plan pay their bills direct from their bank account by setting up a Direct Debit, with the majority of customers paying in weekly or monthly instalments.

Payment plans are set in advance for the year ahead. Your instalment amounts will be based on one of the following:

  • We will set your payment plan amounts for the year ahead based on the amount of water you normally use. This is based on your previous meter readings.
  • If you have just moved in, we won’t know how much water you normally use in a year at your new address so your payment plan will be based on the number of people who live in your home. If you haven’t already told us this information, your payment amounts will be based on two people living at your address until you tell us it’s more or less than two people. You can do this by registering to manage your water account online.

We normally review your payment plan every 12 months. Once we start taking regular meter readings (which for most customers is every six months), we may amend your regular payment amounts if you’re using more or less water than expected.
