I have a septic tank, do I need to pay full sewerage charges?

If you own a septic tank you don't pay full foul sewerage charges if:

  • the overflow pipe does not feed into the public sewer
  • United Utilities does not drain and pump it out

To discuss whether your charges can be amended, please call us on one of the following numbers:

We are open Monday-Friday from 8am-8pm, and Saturday from 8am-4pm, excluding bank holidays.

Before you call us, please have the following information to hand:

  • details of who owns your septic tank
  • the name of the company that empties your septic tank
  • the date you last had your septic tank emptied, and the cost

If you’re experiencing flooding from a road or footpath and there is no evidence of sewage (toilet paper etc.) please report this to your local council, who are responsible for highways drainage flooding.
