Working to improve river health and tackling storm overflows

Greater Manchester is home to some of the most remarkable rivers in the UK, from the Irwell to the Mersey. 

But factors like climate change and a growing population mean it’s more important than ever to do what we can to protect them. 

So we’re actively working to improve Greater Manchester’s rivers, lakes and waterways through an investment programme of £122 million.
