Our Collections Team Managers lead, manage and motivate a team of Collections Advisors within our Collections department.  The team's activities cover aspects of debt recovery from Small Claims Court processes to liaising with external debt collection agencies. 

A key focus of this role is to ensure that our customers receive excellent customer service at every contact; therefore one of the main priorities in this job is to ensure that, through strong leadership skills, your team members deliver just that.  In addition to this, the team's activities must comply with all regulations, policies and Civil Procedure Rules where these are applicable.

Aside from being responsible for managing the team's performance, Team Managers are also responsible for holding regular performance reviews and one-to-ones, as well as providing individual coaching and feedback.

In addition to the people management aspects of the job, the Collections Team Manager is responsible for ensuring that their team meets the regulatory targets set by our regulator, OFWAT.  Therefore, they must be able to have the right resource, at the right time and working on the right activity to ensure that these targets are met.  They also need to deliver effective cash collection solutions for customers who have financial difficulty as well as customers who avoid making payment. As such, ability to interpret data and reports are important skills we look for in applicants for this role.
