Would you like to work in an industry where you can make a difference to the environment and the general public? Then the United Utilities Environment and Sustainability team could be the place for you.
As a graduate Environmental Planner you will work as part of a team of environmental specialists to provide specialist advice and obtain environmental consents to support the business and its capital programme.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects affecting anything from our towns and cities to some of the most environmentally sensitive locations in the country! You’ll mainly be involved in project work within multi-disciplinary project teams, so the ability to work effectively as part of a team is a key aspect of the role.
You’ll work alongside an experienced team including Environmental Planners, Ecologists and Landscape Architects and be involved with a vast array of projects and will have the opportunity to gain experience and a detailed knowledge of relevant environmental policies and legislation.
You'll typically be responsible for:
- Ensuring environmental objectives, policies and standards are accounted for in project designs and construction activities
- Delivering consents to required timescales and ensuring that environmental risks are identified and dealt with in an appropriate manner
- Ensuring that all necessary information is communicated to design teams, project teams and construction partners
