Every five years, all of the water companies in England and Wales submit a business plan to Ofwat, the water regulator, outlining the investment required in their networks of pipes, sewers, water and wastewater treatment works and reservoirs. United Utilities submitted its revised business plan for the period 2015-2020 to Ofwat and the regulator’s final determination was published and accepted in January 2015.
